I got engaged to Trent Van Leuven on Oct. 21, 2008! He took me to the Arboretum, at the U of I campus, which is a big garden full of trees and ponds. We walked down the hill, it was really dark and we couldn't see where we were going. But it was absolutely beautiful with all of the stars out! We finally got to a little pond, I could tell that something was up when I saw the pond lit up surrounded by candles with little candles afloat in white boats. He then told me that I was the light of his life, and that he wanted to be the light of my life! Then he asked me if I would marry him while he was on one knee.
We are so excited!

hahahaha! Your fiancee totally has a picture of a cow on his jacket! You two are very cute together, and I was shocked to to get a bridal shower announcement today. Hurray for you marrying the best kind of guy who looooves cows, but looooves Cara more!
Congratulations on the engagement. I kind of knew itwould happen at our grandpa;s birthday party. I have the cutest picture of you two, unfortately my computer is sort of on the fritz and I can't do pictures. But I will send it or bring it which ever comes first.
Trent seemed like a winner the first time we met him. We totally approve.

Way to go, Trent! Adam wants to know if you had to throw rocks at the floating candles to extinguish the flames. He would have loved to help. As for me, I am still so excited--let me know if I can help.
